The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) has alerted residents in the Central Eastern Division regarding increasing turbidity levels in essential water sources. Key locations affected include Savura, Headworks 3, and the Waimanu Pump Station. This rise in turbidity may impede operations at the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant, potentially resulting in decreased water production.

Currently, water reservoir levels at the Tamavua facility remain stable, and residents continue to receive their normal water supply. However, WAF has urged customers to store water and use it sparingly as a precaution. The authority is closely monitoring the situation, warning that continued heavy rainfall could lead to low water pressure or intermittent supply disruptions, impacting treatment plant efficiency.

Given the recent adverse weather events, it is crucial for residents to remain informed and prepared. WAF’s proactive management and transparency reflect their dedication to public health and the uninterrupted provision of water services.

Residents are encouraged to heed these warnings and take necessary precautions, fostering a spirit of community resilience during these unpredictable weather challenges. By working together and staying proactive, the community can mitigate any potential inconveniences and safeguard essential resources.
