The Fiji Water Flying Fijians have announced their team for the upcoming match against Spain in the Autumn Nations series. This match will feature Saimoni Uluinakauvadra, a former Fiji Warrior player, making his debut. Head coach Mick Byrne praised Uluinakauvadra for his physicality and fitness, considering him a valuable asset as a number seven player.

Byrne emphasized the physicality of the Spanish team and noted Uluinakauvadra’s performance in preparation for this challenging match. “He’s very physical over the ball, he’s very fit. We’re looking forward to seeing him debut and showcase his talents,” Byrne remarked.

With a series of four tests ahead, Byrne stressed the importance of having a strong squad to confront the northern conditions. “To play four tests in a row, you need your full squad, and we’re providing opportunities for players who have been tirelessly working to demonstrate their capabilities,” he added.

The lineup features Eroni Mawi, Sam Matavesi, and Luke Tagi in the front row, with Mesake Vocevoce and Ratu Leone Rotuisolia as locks. Uluinakauvadra is joined by Vilive Miramira and Albert Tuisue in a robust back row. The halfback positions will be held by Simi Kuruvoli and Caleb Muntz, while the wings will be occupied by Ponipate Loganimasi and Jiuta Wainiqolo. Captain Waisea Nayacalevu and Sireli Maqala will lead the midfield, with Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula taking charge at fullback.

On the bench, the team is well-supported with Mesulame Dolokoto, Haereiti Hetet, and Jone Koroiduadua providing front row cover, Temo Mayanavanua as a lock replacement, and Elia Canakaivata covering the back row. The backline will have additional options with Peni Matawalu, Vilimoni Botitu, and Inia Tabuavou.

The match against Spain is scheduled to start tomorrow at 2 am. This game not only marks Uluinakauvadra’s debut but also highlights Fiji’s commitment to developing talent and maintaining strong team cohesion.
