Fiji vs Japan: Clash of Titans in Pacific Nations Cup Final!

The FIJI Water Flying Fijians will compete against the host nation, Japan, in the final of the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup on Saturday. Japan secured their place in the final by defeating Samoa 49-27 in the second semifinal.

This match will reignite the longstanding rivalry between Fiji and Japan, which began with their first encounter in 1990. In their 17 meetings, Fiji has won 14 times, while Japan has claimed victory three times. Japan’s memorable victories include a 24-18 win in Matsuyama in May 1994 and a 24-13 win in Lautoka in July 2011.

Japan’s largest victory over Fiji came in May 1994, with a score of 20-8 at the National Stadium in Tokyo. The final will take place at Hanazono Rugby Stadium in Higashiosaka at 10:05 PM Fiji Time.
