The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has unveiled a transformative $15.4 million initiative aimed at modernizing transport services in Fiji, significantly enhancing access and efficiency for all Fijians. The official launch of the upgraded NodaLTA e-Services platform and revamped website took place at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva, led by the Minister for Public Works, Meteorological Services and Transport, Ro Filipe Tuisawau.
Tuisawau emphasized the critical role the transport sector plays in national development, highlighting its impact on connectivity, trade, road safety, and economic activity. He noted that the LTA’s previous reliance on manual, counter-based processes often led to long queues, delays, and increased costs for customers. The new digital platform is designed to mitigate these issues, enhancing efficiency, governance, and transparency within the transport sector.
This substantial investment over three years underscores the Government’s commitment to implementing sustainable digital solutions that offer significant long-term benefits to citizens and businesses alike. Central to this initiative is the improved NodaLTA system, which aims to minimize the necessity for in-branch visits, streamline transaction times, and facilitate customer interactions anytime and anywhere.
Among the services available online now are Traffic Infringement Notice searches, transfers, payments, and various license-related services, all accessible through LTA’s website and mobile app. The platform supports secure digital payments through ANZ, BSP, M-PAiSA, and MyCash, making it easier for users to manage their transport-related transactions.
Particularly beneficial for rural and maritime communities, the new system is crafted to overcome geographical barriers, ensuring that essential services are within reach for those in remote areas. Looking ahead, Tuisawau mentioned that upcoming features will include online renewals for licenses and vehicle registrations as the LTA advances its digital transformation journey, heralding a new era for Fiji’s transport system and enhancing public accessibility in the process.
