Weather Update:

Attention, Fiji! The clouds have decided to throw a party, and it looks like we’re all invited. Commencing at a humble 10:45 AM on the 30th of December 2025, the National Weather Forecasting Centre has issued a heavy rain alert for the entire Fiji Group. So grab your umbrellas and put on those stylish raincoats because we’re about to get soggier than a sponge caught in a monsoon!

Currently, we’re being serenaded by an active trough low pressure system shamelessly approaching us from the west. Rain and clouds are on their way to jazz up our landscape from later today until Thursday. Don’t worry too much about your plans; Mother Nature has a way of keeping things interesting!

Forecast until midnight tomorrow predicts that we’ll see partly cloudy skies with brief showers, and just for fun, the northern and northwestern parts of Viti Levu might witness some afternoon thunderstorms—a little bang for your buck, if you will! If you’re in areas like Greater Cakaudrove or the Yasawa and Mamanuca Islands, you can expect rain developing tonight and occasional thunderstorms to make their debut.

The rest of us can look forward to lovely weather this afternoon, aside from a stray shower or two. But the rain will kick into full gear tomorrow, so save those outdoor activities for another day, unless you fancy a muddy adventure!

Speaking of rain, be mindful of those low-lying areas, as local heavy falls could lead to flash flooding. The winds will be moderate to fresh, making it perfect weather for a dramatic hair flip, and the seas will be moderately rough, so only the brave should venture out there.

Now, let’s break it down by location:

For Navua/Suva/Nausori: Today, we’re looking at some fine weather, just a couple of afternoon showers trying to steal the show. Max: 31°C. Tomorrow brings the heaviness with occasional rain and thunderstorms. Min: 24, Max: 30.
