The Fiji Sports Council (FSC) Under-20 team is gearing up for an exciting tour to New Zealand next month, driven by a strong ambition to secure victories. Head coach Sireli Bobo announced that the team’s preparations will kick off on January 3, with their departure scheduled for January 29.

Bobo expressed gratitude to the FSC for organizing the Under-20 sevens series, which took place across several locations, including Navua, Sigatoka, Savusavu, Rakiraki, and concluded at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium on November 30. He noted the impressive turnout and the emergence of raw talent throughout the competition, highlighting teams such as Village Boys, QVSOBs, Ca’au, and Dominion Brothers who consistently performed well.

With a vision focused on player development from grassroots levels to international competition, Bobo is optimistic about the team’s potential and emphasized the importance of exposure to high-level matches. The upcoming tour is particularly special, as many players will experience flying for the first time. Bobo sees this as not only a chance to compete but also as a significant step in their journey toward wearing the national jersey.

This initiative represents a vital opportunity for young athletes, fostering growth and providing them with experiences that can shape their future in sports.

In summary, the FSC Under-20 team’s tour is a promising milestone in their development, and with robust preparation, it aims to make a strong impact on the international stage. This not only enhances their skills but also instills confidence in the players, showing that dreams of competing at higher levels can indeed become a reality.
