The Fiji U20 women’s team has returned home following their debut at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia. The team faced significant challenges during the tournament, suffering defeats in the group stage with scores of 11-0 against France, 9-0 against Brazil, and 9-0 against Canada. However, their journey to the World Cup marks a significant achievement for Fijian football.
Defender Angeline Rekha reflected on the experience, describing it as a dream come true, noting that qualifying for such a prestigious event is a rare accomplishment. The team members felt their diligent efforts had finally been recognized, despite the overwhelming competition.
