The Fiji Sports Council U20 team made a striking start to their tournament, scoring a decisive 15-0 victory against Deveta Brothers at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Senior player Lodoviko Tuva expressed gratitude for the team’s successful opening match.
“We thank the Lord for the victory. This was what we discussed before the game, and we are pleased that we executed our game plan effectively to secure this important win,” Tuva shared.
As the team looks ahead to their future matches, Tuva acknowledged areas in need of improvement, particularly in support play. “Support play was not on point in that game; we need to work on that, as well as our defensive structures at our five and ten-meter lines. We must communicate more to address these issues,” he explained.
Tuva also highlighted the players’ eagerness to make a mark in the competition, especially for their sponsors who have given them the platform to showcase their abilities. “Our goal is to win this tournament as a way to express our appreciation to our sponsors at the Fiji Sports Council,” he stated.
Additionally, he noted that with the festive season approaching, securing the tournament victory would allow them to share the prize money with their families, enhancing their Christmas celebrations.
Under the guidance of former national representative Isireli Bobo, the FSC U20 team is determined to perform well in the ongoing tournament, embodying hope and dedication as they strive for success.
