The Fiji national under-19 football team is deeply engaged in rigorous preparations for their upcoming international match against the Australian Joeys. The training camp commenced at the Fiji FA Academy in Vatuwaqa on January 6 and will continue through to game day on January 17, when they will face off in Lautoka at Churchill Park.

Head coach Dhirend Chand expressed optimism regarding the match, viewing it as a vital opportunity to assess the team’s preparedness for international competition. He believes that the encounter with the Australian Joeys will challenge the players to effectively implement their training in a real match environment.

“This match against the Australian Joeys is an important test for our players,” Chand stated, highlighting that the fixture will provide insight into how well the athletes have absorbed their training during recent individual preparation sessions.
