Fiji’s U-16 Junior Kulas head coach, Marika Rodu, emphasized the team’s goal of finishing at the top of their pool with one pivotal match remaining against Samoa in the OFC U-16 Women’s Championships. Currently, Fiji has one draw and one win, totaling 4 points, while Samoa leads the pool with 6 points from two wins.
“The girls fought hard to keep our hopes alive for topping the pool. Looking ahead, our focus is on scoring and winning against Samoa,” stated Rodu following their recent match against the Cook Islands.
Rodu noted that lessons learned from their game against Tonga prompted some changes, leading to improved performance. “We want to continue growing game by game,” he added.
Fiji is set to face Samoa on Saturday at 3 PM at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
