Fiji’s U-16 Junior Kulas head coach, Marika Rodu, has expressed the team’s goal of finishing at the top of their pool with one critical match remaining against Samoa in the OFC U-16 Women’s Championships. Currently, Fiji holds a record of one draw and one win, accumulating four points, trailing Samoa, which has secured two wins for a total of six points.
Rodu stated, “The girls fought hard to keep our hopes alive for topping the pool. Moving forward, it’s about scoring and winning the game against Samoa,” following their recent match against the Cook Islands.
The coach also reflected on the lessons learned from their game against Tonga, noting, “We made a few changes and I think we performed slightly better; we’d just like to progress game by game.”
Fiji is set to face Samoa on Saturday at 3 PM at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
