Fiji TV Sparks Academic Rivalry with Exciting IQ Active Competition

The Permanent Secretary for Education, Selina Kuruleca, announced that the IQ Active competition promotes academic engagement and develops critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students. During the launch of Fiji’s largest national secondary school general knowledge quiz competition, she highlighted the importance of such initiatives.

This year, 50 secondary schools, including five maritime institutions, are participating in the 2024 competition, with over 200 students involved from various divisions. Kuruleca praised Fiji TV for revitalizing the competition and emphasized the significance of teamwork and effective communication among the competitors.

She encouraged students to explore critical and creative thinking to enhance their problem-solving abilities. “This competition should challenge you to think in various ways about a problem, allowing you to cultivate your intellectual skills. Prepare by studying and then approach the issues with creative and critical thought,” Kuruleca advised.

Felix Chaudhary, Acting CEO of Fiji Television, reiterated the company’s dedication to contributing to the education sector, focusing on literacy and numeracy development.

The 2024 IQ Active competition is set to debut on October 7 on Fiji One.
