Dave McMeekin and Julie Hornsey from the Pacific Media Assistance Scheme facilitated a two-day Mobile Journalism training session for the operations, news, current affairs, and sports team at Fiji Television Limited on July 15 and 16.
As part of the training, PACMAS supplied two Mobile Journalism (MOJO) kits, each valued at AUD $5,500, which included an iPhone 15 Pro Max, microphones, and other essential equipment.
The training encompassed fundamental skills for handling and maintaining the MOJO device, capturing audio and video, utilizing creative camera angles, and enhancing subjects through background lines and images.
Following the completion of the training, the Fiji TV News team promptly began using the MOJO kits.
The introduction of these kits has positively influenced Fiji TV’s newsroom by minimizing the reliance on cumbersome equipment and encouraging more creative approaches to event coverage.
