Dave McMeekin and Julie Hornsey from the Pacific Media Assistance Scheme held a two-day Mobile Journalism training session for the operations and news teams at Fiji Television Limited on July 15-16.
During this training, PACMAS supplied two MOJO kits valued at AUD$5,500 each, which comprised an iPhone 15 Pro Max, microphones, and other essential equipment.
The curriculum included the fundamentals of operating and maintaining the MOJO devices, as well as techniques for capturing audio and video, employing creative camera angles, and enhancing visuals with background lines and images.
After the workshop, the Fiji TV News team promptly began utilizing the MOJO kits.
The arrival of these kits has made a significant positive difference in Fiji TV’s newsroom, allowing for a decrease in reliance on cumbersome equipment and fostering greater creativity in event coverage.
