Fiji TV Elevates Coverage with Mobile Journalism Training

Dave McMeekin and Julie Hornsey from the Pacific Media Assistance Scheme led a two-day training session on Mobile Journalism for the team of Fiji Television Limited, which took place from July 15 to 16.

During the training, PACMAS provided two MOJO kits, each valued at AUD$5,500, featuring an iPhone 15 Pro Max, microphones, and other essential equipment.

The curriculum included fundamental skills for managing and maintaining the MOJO devices, techniques for capturing both audio and video, as well as creative methods for utilizing camera angles and enhancing subjects with appropriate backgrounds.

After the training, the Fiji TV News team promptly began utilizing the MOJO kits.

The introduction of these kits has had a positive effect on Fiji TV’s newsroom, reducing the need for cumbersome equipment and fostering increased creativity in coverage of events.
