Fiji is set to participate in the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth in New Delhi, commencing Thursday. Deputy Speaker and Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua will represent Speaker of Parliament Filimone Jitoko, who is unable to attend due to prior engagements. Joining her are Deputy Secretary-General Abele Sakulu and Manager Tables Saleshni Prasad.
This important conference gathers Speakers and Presiding Officers from various parliaments across independent Commonwealth countries. Qereqeretabua emphasized the significance of the event as a platform for enhancing parliamentary cooperation, promoting democratic values, and strengthening the bond between Fiji and India.
