The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) has entered into a significant $4.5 million collaboration with E-Tech Engineering Pte Ltd aimed at enhancing and expanding the Nasinu Cemetery. This initiative was solidified during an official signing ceremony at FCS Headquarters, featuring the Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Auta Moceisuva, along with E-Tech’s Director Ashneel Singh and consultants from NRW Macallan Fiji Ltd.

The project has been in the works for three years, responding to growing public concerns regarding the availability of burial space. Once completed, it will provide approximately 17,000 new burial plots, fulfilling cemetery needs for the next seven years. Moceisuva emphasized the urgency of finishing the project on time, noting that current cemetery space is running low and may be exhausted by the end of this quarter.

Moceisuva expressed gratitude to E-Tech for their dedication in overcoming various documentation and procedural hurdles throughout the planning stages. E-Tech Director Singh assured that his team is already on-site and fully committed to executing the project with the utmost care and precision.

This partnership not only addresses immediate public health needs but also aligns with governmental objectives to improve cemetery infrastructure, marking a significant advancement in community services in Fiji.
