The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed gratitude to the New Zealand Government for its effective coordination of Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s visit. This message comes in response to certain media members who used racist stereotypes regarding photos of two New Zealanders on the Prime Minister’s security detail.
Fiji’s High Commission in New Zealand clarified that these two individuals were part of a larger team representing a diverse cross-section of New Zealand society. They commended the security team for their professionalism, transparency, and meticulousness.
The High Commission noted that all members of the Prime Minister’s security detail were supplied by the New Zealand Government, affirming that the visit went smoothly, despite some adjustments to the schedule.
