Fiji Tech Summit 2024: A Game-Changer for Pacific Innovation

The Fiji Tech Summit is considered a landmark event in the advancement of technology in the Pacific. This was emphasized by DATEC chairman Isikeli Tikoduadua during his welcoming speech at the 2024 Fiji Tech Summit held in Nadi, which focuses on the theme “Connecting Pacific.”

Mr. Tikoduadua noted that over the past two years, the summit has emerged as the largest tech gathering in the region, establishing connections with global technology leaders and forming a roadmap for technological development. He expressed gratitude towards the Datec team and their international partners for their dedication in bringing cutting-edge technology to Fiji and the Pacific.

He acknowledged the crucial role of technology as a driver of change in a rapidly evolving world, allowing for connections, innovation, and adaptability amidst challenges. He highlighted the potential for Island Nations to fulfill and surpass their economic and productivity goals through advancements in technology and the transition to a digital economy.

Emphasizing the importance of technological innovation for productivity and prosperity, Mr. Tikoduadua described the Fiji Tech Summit as an excellent opportunity to enhance the digital transformation journey underway in Fiji and the broader South Pacific. He called on organizations at various stages of digital transformation to work collectively in fostering innovation and continuous growth.

He also expressed appreciation for the vendors participating in the exhibition, highlighting the importance of their engagement in addressing the unique needs of Pacific customers and their commitment to advancing technology in the region.
