Team Fiji achieved impressive victories against multiple countries at the 45th World Chess Olympiad held in Budapest, Hungary.

The Fiji Open Team faced a significant challenge from Palau, where Candidate Master Manoj Kumar successfully secured a draw against John Ranel Morazo. In other matches, Board 2 CM Rudr Prasad triumphed over Junior Santiago Tan, CM Ronald Terubea defeated Angelo Salvadora, and Yash Krishen Maharaj from The University of the South Pacific emerged victorious against Junior Manuel Mahor. Ultimately, the Fiji Open Team clinched a win against Palau.

The Fiji Women’s Team also celebrated a victory, managing to defeat the Netherlands.

In additional match results, CM Ronald Terubea managed to draw against Shaief Chashawa of Suriname, while WFM Kieran Lyons put up a strong fight to secure a draw with Women’s International Master Gabriella Johnson from Trinidad and Tobago.
