The Cabinet has given its approval to the Air Transport Agreement between the United States and the Government of Fiji, establishing a bilateral open skies arrangement. This marks the first time Fiji has negotiated such an agreement in collaboration with Fiji Airways. Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica stated that this Agreement is part of the broader liberalization of Fiji’s Aviation Policy, which allows for the examination of both bilateral and multilateral open skies arrangements on a case-by-case basis. This approach aims to ensure the viability of routes, support trade and investment, and sustain Fiji’s tourism industry.
