Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka announced Fiji’s official bid to host the 2031 Pacific Games during the 2023 Fiji Sports Awards at HFC Bank Stadium. He stated that the country’s proposal has been submitted through the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) and will be presented in Palau next month.
Mr. Rabuka emphasized that the People’s Coalition Government is dedicated to fostering sports development across all levels. He affirmed the commitment to investing in athletes, enhancing sports infrastructure, and ensuring inclusivity within sports.
“We recognize the importance of providing opportunities for all the people of Fiji, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or ability, to participate in sports and pursue their dreams,” he stated.
