Fiji will take part in the inaugural Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children, scheduled to take place in Bogota, Colombia this month. The delegation will be led by Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Lynda Tabuya, who will be joined by Child Advisor to the Ministry, Natalie Siegel-Brown, and Director for Children, Arieta Tagivetaua.

Minister Tabuya is set to deliver a presentation highlighting the Fijian Government’s commitment to ending violence against children. This conference provides a significant platform for accelerating efforts to eliminate violence against children globally, emphasizing the need for more effective child protection and violence prevention systems.

The outcomes from this conference are poised to support initiatives aligned with the commitments in Fiji’s National Development Plan 2025-2029 concerning the protection of children from violence.

This participation illustrates Fiji’s dedication to child welfare and the global efforts to forge pathways toward a safer environment for all children, reflecting a growing international recognition of the importance of addressing this critical issue.
