Team Fiji swimmer David Young has set a new personal best at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Young won his Men’s 50m freestyle heat with a time of 22.71 seconds at the Olympics.

His previous record was 22.87 seconds, set at the 2023 World Aquatic Championships in Japan.

David Young has made the nation proud by setting the nation’s best record in the Men’s 50m freestyle at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Coach Willie Elaisa commended Young’s achievement, saying that the experience of competing with world-class swimmers and finishing first in the heat has been the highlight of their journey.

Young has mapped out his plans for the future after the Olympic Games.

Young finished 40th out of 73 swimmers after winning heat 5.
