Team Fiji swimmer David Young has achieved a new personal best at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Young won his Men’s 50m freestyle heat with a time of 22.71 seconds. His previous record was 22.87 seconds, set at the 2023 World Aquatic Championships in Japan.
David Young has made the nation proud by setting the best national record in the Men’s 50m freestyle at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Coach Willie Elaisa praised Young’s achievement, noting that competing against world-class swimmers and finishing first in the heat has been the highlight of their journey.
Following the Olympic Games, Young has outlined his plans for the future. He finished 40th out of 73 swimmers after winning heat 5.
