The Fiji Sugar Corporation reported a $170,000 reduction in the salaries of its key management personnel for 2024 compared to the previous year. According to the 2024 annual report, payments to key management totaled $1.16 million in 2023, while in 2024, this amount decreased to $1.33 million.

The report indicates that as of May 31, 2024, the key management team consisted of eight executives, including the CEO, head of finance, chief operating officer, head of agriculture, three mill general managers, and chief human resources officer. These individuals hold the most significant authority and responsibility for overseeing the corporation’s planning, direction, and operational control.

In addition to salary, certain members of the executive management group received non-cash employment benefits, such as vehicle allowances, housing assistance, and medical insurance, collectively valued at $84,395 for the year.

An editor’s note clarified that a previous story mistakenly reported a $174,000 increase in salaries; the publication regrets the error and any confusion it may have caused.
