In 2024, the Fiji Sugar Corporation reported a $170,000 reduction in salaries paid to key management personnel compared to the previous year, 2023. The annual report for 2024 indicates that $1.16 million was disbursed to key management in 2023, while 2024 saw a decrease to $1.33 million.
As of May 31, 2024, the company identified eight executives as key management personnel, including the chief executive officer, head of finance, chief operating officer, head of agriculture, three general managers, and the chief human resources officer. These individuals hold significant authority and responsibility for the corporation’s operations and strategic direction.
Additionally, the report noted that some members of the executive management team received non-cash employment benefits, including vehicle and housing allowances, as well as medical insurance, totaling $84,395 for the year.
An earlier report inaccurately stated that there was a $174,000 increase in salaries, for which the publication has issued an apology for the error.
