Primary and secondary school students were honored for their commitment to promoting peace through artistic expression at the Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light (HWPL) Drawing Contest award ceremony, which took place last Saturday at the Fiji Scouts Association National Headquarters in Suva.

Bimal Deo, senior advisor for HWPL Fiji, emphasized the importance of the event in encouraging young minds to convey positive messages through their creativity. He noted that the ceremony serves to acknowledge and celebrate the artistic talents of students, focusing on themes of peace, coexistence, and mutual respect.

Deo explained that the contest encourages students to reflect on the meaning of peace within their own communities, allowing them to articulate their aspirations for a more harmonious future. “The drawing contest provided young participants with an opportunity to express their visions for a peaceful future,” he stated.

During the ceremony, chief guest Caroline Fisher, president of the Fiji Girl Guides Association, commended the young artists for their efforts and urged them to continue utilizing their talents to foster unity and respect among peers. This recognition not only highlights the students’ creativity but also reinforces the message of hope and collaboration in building a peaceful society.
