Greetings, fellow weather-wonderers and wind-watchers! Grab hold of your hats and tighten your sails because Mother Nature’s blowing up a storm. A strong wind warning continues to keep folks on their toes across the coastal lands of Ra-Rakiraki, Southern Bua, Eastern Macuata, and a whole bunch of other sunny islands! Picture a southeast wind flow that’s really got its act together, putting on a breezy Broadway show all across the region.
For today and tomorrow, we’re looking at south-easterly winds with a hefty shoulder shrug of 45km/hr in a bunch of places. It’s promising to be slightly less gymnastic in action as the winds ease to moderate by later today, but don’t expect handstands and cartwheels just yet. There’s also mention of rough seas, so unless you’re a pirate looking for treasure, it might be better to watch the waves from the shore.
Expect clouds and showers to make surprise guest appearances over various provinces like Serua-Namosi and Suva. Those elsewhere can bask in fine weather and evening coolness. Come Sunday, the winds will put on another spectacular show at the coast with some brief showers if they feel cheeky. Isolated heavy falls might drop in to say ‘hello’ as well, just to keep us on our toes.
For residents around Navua, Suva, and Nausori: pack an umbrella for those fleeting showers, but feel assured the cooler nighttime air will tuck you in nicely. Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba will mostly be catching some sunshine without many shower interruptions.
Over in Rotuma, the wind is being dramatically impressive with speeds of 45km/hr over land and 20 to 25 knots offshore. Sounds like the ocean’s doing a little jig out there, so prepare for rougher seas.
No tall tales here, folks. Just a weather forecast trying its best to keep things light while the winds do their thing. Remember, humor doesn’t need raincoats but you might—so come prepared as you coast through the weekend with a wily weather grin!
