Fiji has officially welcomed its newest maritime asset, the RFNS Timo, a Guardian-class patrol boat, delivered by Australia. The vessel was presented during a ceremony held in Perth, attended by Pio Tikoduadua, the Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration, along with Permanent Secretary Mason Smith and Deputy Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Humphrey Tawake.

The RFNS Timo is set to significantly bolster Fiji’s maritime security efforts, enhance border protection, and help protect the country’s natural resources, according to a statement from the Ministry.
