Former Fiji U20 defender, Peter Charles Ravai, has elevated his footballing career by signing with Gulf United in the United Arab Emirates. At just 21 years old, Ravai is already making significant contributions to the team, having captained several matches since joining last month.
Recently, he had the opportunity to train in Dubai with renowned German and Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. Ravai expressed that the experience has been a highlight of his career. “I have grown much more in terms of being a footballer after signing a professional contract in October with Gulf United. I’m looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead,” he shared.
Training alongside Gundogan, Ravai valued the chance to learn from one of the best midfielders in the world, who has extensive experience playing for Germany in World Cups. “The chance to train and learn from Gundogan is something I will always cherish,” he stated.
Ravai is thankful to his club for the welcoming environment and the opportunities he has received so far, which include captaining the team. He hopes to continue improving his skills and contributing positively to the club.
Despite his club commitments, Ravai remains keen on representing Fiji in international matches, expressing optimism about the national team’s chances for World Cup qualification. “I wish the team all the best for the World Cup qualifiers. The squad has some of the best players in the country, and I am confident they will do well and make Fiji proud,” he added.
