Fiji Sports Council’s CEO Gilbert Vakalalabure and Operations Manager Litia Senibulu have been placed on leave amid ongoing investigations into allegations against them. The news was confirmed by FSC board member Peter Mazey, who stated that the decision was made to ensure a transparent and independent review process.
The investigation will be conducted by the Australian company Pherrus Financial Services, which has a local branch in Fiji. It will focus on 16 specific allegations made against the CEO. The investigation is anticipated to take approximately four weeks to complete.
Once the investigation concludes, the findings will be reported to the Minister of Youth and Sports and subsequently presented to the Cabinet for further action. This proactive step demonstrates the Fiji Sports Council’s commitment to integrity and accountability in its leadership.
