The America Fiji Sports Commission has made a generous donation of $5,000 to WOWS Kids Fiji, a charitable trust dedicated to supporting children battling cancer. Commission President Narend Narayan, who has a longstanding commitment to philanthropy, emphasized his dedication to improving the lives of children in need.
Following the completion of the 2024 Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup in Lautoka, Narayan, accompanied by Vice President Vinay Nair and other board members, presented the donation to Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel.
In response, Patel expressed gratitude for the contribution, noting, “Their support extends beyond football, touching the lives of those in need and showcasing the true spirit of this tournament.” He announced that Fiji FA will continue assisting WOWS Kids by donating a dollar from each ticket sold over the four-day event, contributing to a larger commitment that has already surpassed $60,000 for social responsibility initiatives.
The collaboration between sports organizations and charitable trusts highlights the power of community support and the collective effort to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children. This partnership is a beacon of hope for those affected by cancer, showcasing how sports can unite people in a common cause.
Overall, the efforts of both the America Fiji Sports Commission and Fiji FA reflect a deep commitment to social responsibility, reinforcing the idea that collective actions can lead to significant change in the community.
