Over 3,000 participants engaged in the 2023 Fiji Spartan Race, as announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Tourism Minister Viliame Gavoka during the official welcome event for the Fiji Spartan Trifecta week at the Aviva Racecourse in Sabeto, Nadi.

Gavoka expressed his excitement, noting that last year, they welcomed more than 3,370 participants, with a noteworthy 65 percent coming from outside Fiji. Competitors represented over 20 countries, including Australia and New Zealand, converging on Fiji’s picturesque shores.

“This global gathering highlights Fiji’s status as a premier destination,” he stated. He also emphasized the positive response from the international community, describing it as a true reflection of the spirit of the Spartan Race.

“Our commitment to hosting Spartan Fiji for three consecutive years is based on the significant benefits we see for our nation. Last year alone, it generated an estimated economic impact of around $8 million, which is an impressive contribution to our economy,” Gavoka added.
