The Flying Fijians triumphed over Tonga with a score of 50-19 in their Pacific Nations Cup match held in Tonga this afternoon.
Fiji made a strong start, scoring three tries in the first ten minutes from Iosefo Masi, Tevita Ikanivere, and Elia Canakaivata, which established a commanding lead.
The game took a turn when Fiji’s Adrea Cocagi was sent off with a red card, allowing Tonga to seize the opportunity and score three tries consecutively.
However, despite Tonga’s efforts, Fiji managed to add to their score just before halftime, leading 26-19 at the break.
In the second half, Fiji’s defense tightened, effectively stifling Tonga’s scoring attempts while their offense continued to dominate, ultimately securing a decisive victory over the Tongan team.
