The Cabinet has given its approval for the Air Transport Agreement between the United States and the Government of Fiji, establishing a bilateral open skies arrangement. This marks the first such agreement negotiated by Fiji in collaboration with Fiji Airways.
Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica stated that the agreement is part of Fiji’s efforts to liberalize its aviation policy, enabling a careful assessment of potential bilateral and multilateral open skies agreements. This approach aims to ensure the viability of flight routes, support trade and investment, and sustain Fiji’s tourism industry.
