The Cabinet has approved the Air Transport Agreement between the United States and Fiji. This agreement is founded on a bilateral open skies arrangement and represents the first such agreement negotiated by Fiji in collaboration with Fiji Airways.
The initiative follows the recent liberalization of Fiji’s Aviation Policy, which allows for an assessment of the potential for both bilateral and multilateral open skies arrangements on a case-by-case basis. This move is aimed at ensuring the viability of air routes, supporting trade and investment, and sustaining Fiji’s tourism industry.
