The Cabinet has greenlit the Air Transport Agreement between the United States and the Government of Fiji, establishing a bilateral open skies framework. This marks the first open skies Air Transport Agreement negotiated by Fiji in collaboration with Fiji Airways. Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica stated that the agreement aligns with the recent liberalization of Fiji’s Aviation Policy, which aims to assess the feasibility of such arrangements on a case-by-case basis. This approach is intended to support route viability, foster trade and investment, and ensure the sustainability of Fiji’s tourism sector.
