The Cabinet has given its approval to the Air Transport Agreement between the United States and the Government of Fiji, establishing a bilateral open skies arrangement. This marks the first such agreement negotiated by Fiji in collaboration with Fiji Airways. Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Manoa Kamikamica, stated that the agreement is part of the liberalization of Fiji’s Aviation Policy. This policy allows for the assessment of potential bilateral and multilateral open skies arrangements on a case-by-case basis, ensuring route viability and supporting trade, investment, and the sustainability of Fiji’s tourism sector.
