Fiji made an explosive start, scoring three quick tries from Iosefo Masi, Tevita Ikanivere, and Elia Canakaivata in the first ten minutes, establishing dominance early in the match.
The game took a turn when Fiji’s Adrea Cocagi was shown a red card, allowing Tonga to capitalize on their numerical advantage and score three consecutive tries.
However, Fiji responded just before halftime, extending their lead to 26-19 as they went into the break.
