The Bula Boys concluded their journey in the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Prime Ministers Cup held in Honiara, Solomon Islands, securing a commendable second place behind Papua New Guinea. Throughout the tournament, Fiji showcased impressive performance, finishing unbeaten. Their final match saw them triumph over the host nation, Solomon Islands, with a score of 3-1.

Gabriel Matanisiga opened the scoring for Fiji in the 33rd minute, followed shortly by Sairusi Nalaubu who netted a goal just before halftime, leading 2-0 at the break. Thomas Dunn extended their advantage with a third goal in the 56th minute. Although Atkin Kaua managed to score for the Solomon Islands in the 79th minute, Fiji maintained control of the match, ensuring no further goals were conceded.

Earlier in the day, Papua New Guinea secured the tournament title with a 2-1 win over Vanuatu, finishing with a total of 10 points. The Fijian team, under the guidance of coach Marika Rodu, earned a respectable eight points from two wins and two draws.

This performance not only reflects the skill and determination of the Fijian players but also sets a positive foundation for their future competitions. With their unbeaten streak and a solid finish, the Bula Boys can build on this experience to strive for even greater success in upcoming tournaments.
