Team Fiji has kicked off the Pacific Mini Games in Palau with an impressive performance, securing several medals on the first day of competition. The highlight of their achievements includes gold medals for both the women’s and men’s 4x400m relay teams, a strong start to the games.

In addition to the relays, Glen Finau clinched a silver medal in the men’s hammer throw, showcasing his skills in the field events. Long jumpers David Raibiriki and Sereana Viriviri also contributed to Fiji’s medal tally by earning silver medals. Loata Lewageena and para-athlete Jimi Onoitoro rounded out the day’s achievements by winning bronze in the women’s javelin and the ambulant 100m race, respectively.

Inspired by previous successful outings, Team Fiji’s strong performance on the opening day fosters a sense of optimism within the athletics and broader Fijian sporting community.
