Key players in Fiji’s financial sector gathered at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva on October 16 to honor the Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF) for receiving the prestigious ‘Nestor Espenilla Jr Financial Inclusion Innovation Award’ at the 2024 Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) Awards.
This award recognizes institutions that showcase leadership in using technology to enhance financial inclusion and share their insights with global peers.
Dr. Eliki Boletawa, AFI Director of Policy Program and Implementation, stated that award recipients exemplify a commitment to innovation and demonstrate how technology can drive more inclusive financial systems. He emphasized that the accolade underscores the significance of technology in providing financial services that are more accessible, affordable, and inclusive, reinforcing the RBF’s status as a leader in the Pacific region’s financial inclusion initiatives.
