Fiji Shakes Up T20 World Cup with Stunning Win!

Fiji achieved its first win at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional A Pacific tournament in Samoa after overcoming two initial defeats. The team secured a notable victory over the previously unbeaten Cook Islands, winning by 104 runs and invigorating the competition for the top position.

Apete Sokovagone shone in the match, scoring 62 runs off 37 balls, which earned him the Man of the Match title. Captain Peni Vuniwaqa contributed effectively with a quick 30 runs from 15 balls, helping Fiji reach a strong total.

The team’s youngest member, 17-year-old Joeli Moala, excelled with the ball, taking 2 wickets for only 9 runs. The tournament’s double round-robin format continues, with Fiji set to face Samoa next as they look to sustain their winning momentum.
