Fiji Shakes Up T20 World Cup with Stunning Victory!

Fiji achieved its first win at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional A Pacific tournament in Samoa, rebounding strongly after two initial losses. They recorded an impressive 104-run victory against the previously unbeaten Cook Islands, injecting excitement into the competition and keeping the race for the top position open.

Apete Sokovagone delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 62 runs off 37 balls, which earned him the Man of the Match title. Captain Peni Vuniwaqa contributed valuable runs, adding 30 off 15 balls to Fiji’s commanding total.

The youngest player on the team, 17-year-old Joeli Moala, also shined with the ball, taking 2 wickets for just 9 runs. The tournament’s second round of the double round-robin kicks off tomorrow, as Fiji prepares to face Samoa, looking to continue their upward momentum.
