Fiji Shakes Up T20 World Cup with Stunning Victory!

Fiji has achieved its first victory at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional A Pacific tournament in Samoa, coming back strongly after suffering defeats in their initial two matches. They recorded a remarkable 104-run win against the previously unbeaten Cook Islands, thereby intensifying the competition and keeping the race for the top position competitive.

Apete Sokovagone shone in the match, scoring 62 runs off 37 balls, which earned him the Man of the Match title. Captain Peni Vuniwaqa also made a significant contribution with 30 runs from 15 balls, helping Fiji post a commanding total.

The team’s youngest player, 17-year-old Joeli Moala, excelled as well, taking 2 wickets for just 9 runs. The second round of the double round-robin tournament continues tomorrow, where Fiji will face Samoa as they look to maintain their momentum.
