The Fiji Airways men’s sevens team is set to compete in the upcoming HSBC Singapore and Perth Sevens tournaments, with two exciting new additions to the squad. Douglas Daveta from ARMY Green and Malolo playmaker Nacani Boginisoko from Dominion Brothers U21 have been called up to join the national team.
Captained by Jeremaia Matana, the team features a blend of seasoned players and newcomers. Among the forwards, experienced players such as Joseva Talacolo and Sevuloni Mocenacagi will bring their skills and leadership to the field. In the backline, head coach Osea Kolinisau has chosen a dynamic mix of players, including Terio Veilawa, Pilipo Bukayaro, George Bose, and quick-footed Vuiviwa Naduvalo, along with Ratu Manueli Maisamoa.
The squad also sees the return of Iowane Teba and Tira Wilagi Patterson, as well as army officer Kavekini Tanivanuakula, which adds depth and balance to the team roster as they prepare for the tournaments.
The HSBC Singapore Sevens is slated for January 31 to February 1, followed closely by the Perth leg taking place from February 7 to 8. As the team gears up for these key competitions, the anticipation among fans and supporters continues to grow. With a promising lineup, the Fiji men’s sevens team aims to showcase their talent and compete fiercely on the international stage.
