Alivereti Nainoca, a 25-year-old rugby player, is living his dream training with some of Fiji’s most renowned 7s athletes as part of the Fiji Airways Men’s 7s extended squad. This experience has been surreal for Nainoca, who is adapting to the fast-paced world of international sevens rugby under the guidance of coach Osea Kolinisau.
Since joining the squad, Nainoca has quickly integrated into the team environment, impressing the coach with his performance and ability to connect with fellow players. “It’s such a great feeling to be with the team I used to only watch on television,” Nainoca expressed, showcasing his excitement about being part of the extended team.
Nainoca views this opportunity as a significant stepping stone in his rugby career, aspiring to play internationally beyond Fiji. “My dream is not only to reach here but also to play in other countries,” he shared. Having previously played 15s rugby, Nainoca notes that the transition to sevens has been a learning experience.
