Fiji Airways men’s 7s team is focusing on self-reflection and improvement as they gear up for their semi-final match against New Zealand in the Singapore Sevens. The squad secured their place in the final four with a hard-fought victory over South Africa, demonstrating their resilience in a challenging pool-stage match.

Terio Tamani noted that facing South Africa is always a physically demanding encounter, and he commended his teammates for their tenacity in the closing moments of the game. “Firstly, I want to thank the Lord for being with us in the last few plays. It’s always a hard fight with our brothers from Africa, but we bounced back in the second half and got the win,” Tamani expressed.

Despite the upbeat victory, Tamani emphasized the necessity of quick learning and high standards moving forward in the tournament. “We’ll go back and look into our mistakes, and we’ll work hard to win the tournament again this year,” he stated, showcasing the team’s determination to refine their performance.

Fiji’s next match is set for 6:52 PM tonight against New Zealand, while the Fijiana 7s team will compete in the 5th-place semifinal against Great Britain at 4 PM this afternoon. Both key matchups will be broadcast live on FBC TV, allowing fans to support their teams from home. The stage is set for an exciting day of rugby, with high hopes pinned on the performances of both Fijian sides.
