The match started with South Africa striking early, thanks to tries from Tristan Leyds and Donovan Don. However, Fiji responded effectively, with Terio Veilawa scoring twice and Jeremaia Matana adding to the scoreboard. Veilawa not only made pivotal contributions with his tries but also successfully executed key conversions. The decisive moment came from Nacani Boginisoko, who scored the winning try during extra time.
